Privacy Policy

WaterIt is designed with privacy in mind. Core app data is stored locally on the user's device. Akcio does not operate a server containing users' plant databases and cannot access content saved in the app.

1. Developer, app names and contact

The app is developed and provided by Akcio under the localized names PodlejTo, WaterIt, RegaAí, Sirami, पानी दो, Riégala, GießMich and SulaBeni. All names refer to the same Android app with the package identifier pl.akcio.podlejto.

Privacy questions can be sent to patryk.akcio@gmail.com.

2. Information stored by the app

Depending on how the app is used, it may store:

  • plant names, types and assigned rooms;
  • watering and fertilizing schedules;
  • care history and postponed tasks;
  • water amounts, care instructions and user notes;
  • plant avatars and growth photos;
  • language, appearance, reminder and other app settings.

Providing this information is voluntary, although some information is necessary for selected features to work.

3. Local storage

Plant data, schedules, history, photos and settings are stored in the app's private storage on the device by default. Akcio does not receive a copy and does not use this information for analytics, profiling or advertising.

4. Photos

The app can access only photos selected through the Android system picker. Selected images are copied to the app's private storage. The app does not scan the device's complete photo library.

5. Reminders

Watering and care reminders are calculated locally. On supported Android versions, the app requests system permission to display notifications. They can be disabled in the app or Android settings.

6. Optional Google Drive backups

After explicitly connecting a Google Account, the user may enable manual or automatic backups. The app requests the limited https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata scope, which allows it to manage only files created by the app in its hidden application-data folder.

A backup can include plant and room data, schedules, care history, settings and photos. The app retains no more than the two newest cloud backups and removes older ones. Data is transmitted directly between the device and Google over an encrypted connection. Akcio does not receive access to the Google Account, authorization token or backup contents.

Google Drive use is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

7. Manual backups and Plant Care

Users may create a backup or care package and share it with a person or app of their choice. A care package contains only data needed by the caretaker, such as selected plants, schedules, instructions and plant avatars. The growth-photo gallery is not included.

Akcio does not select recipients and does not receive these files. After a file leaves the app, its handling depends on the user, the recipient and the selected sharing service.

8. Google services, advertising and privacy choices

The app uses Google Play, Google Drive, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). AdMob displays banner ads, while UMP presents required privacy messages and stores the user's privacy choices.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share with Google advertising-related data, including the IP address (which may indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID. This data may be used to deliver and measure ads, perform advertising-service analytics, and prevent fraud and abuse.

Depending on the user's region, settings and choices, the app may display personalized, non-personalized or limited ads. Non-personalized and limited ads may still use contextual information, IP addresses and technical data required for ad delivery, security and abuse detection.

  • authorize optional Google Drive backups;
  • upload and restore those backups;
  • display the official Google Play in-app review prompt;
  • serve and measure advertising and protect the advertising system from abuse.

The app does not send plant names, rooms, schedules, notes, photos or backup contents to AdMob. Akcio does not sell this plant data.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app uses UMP to obtain required consent. In applicable US states, UMP provides required choices concerning the sale or sharing of data and targeted advertising. When required by UMP, the app settings provide a privacy-options entry point where the user can change or withdraw a choice.

How Google uses information is explained by Google. The current list of advertising technology partners and information about their activities is available in the UMP message and through Google AdMob. Processing by Google and its partners is governed by their own privacy policies and retention periods.

9. Retention and deletion

Users can delete information at any time by:

  • deleting a plant or photo in the app;
  • clearing app data in Android settings;
  • uninstalling the app;
  • disconnecting Google Drive and selecting the option to remove cloud backups;
  • deleting exported files from their chosen storage.

Akcio cannot remotely delete local information or files shared with other people because it has no access to them.

10. Security

The app limits data access to what is needed for its features. Local data is stored in private app storage, Google connections use HTTPS, and imported backups and care packages are validated before restoration.

11. Children

The app is not specifically directed at children, and Akcio does not knowingly collect children's personal data. The app does not require users to create an account.

12. Policy changes

This policy may be updated as the app evolves or legal requirements change. The current version and its revision date will remain available at this address.

13. Questions and user rights

Because Akcio does not hold an app-data server, it will generally have no app content that it can identify or provide in response to a request. For privacy questions or requests concerning your data, contact patryk.akcio@gmail.com.
